A Moose-Based Neutron Diffusion Code with Application to a LMFR Benchmark

Abstract MOOSE (Multiphysics Object-Oriented Simulation Environment) is a powerful finite element multi-physics coupling framework, whose object-oriented, extensive system conducive to the development of various simulation tools. In this work, full-core MOOSE-based Neutron Diffusion application developed, and 3D PWR benchmark 3D-IAEA with given group constants applied for code verification. Then calculation Sodium-cooled Fast Reactor (SFR) benchmark, together research on homogenized few-group generation based Monte Carlo method. The adopts 33-group cross section sets, which generated using OpenMC. Considering long neutron free path strong global spectrum liquid metal cooled reactor (LMFR), homogeneous model used in OpenMC generate constants. addition, transport correction process generation, considering prominent anisotropic scattering fast reactor. calculated results, including effective multiplication factor (k eff ) assembly power distributions, are good agreement reference values results OpenMC, proves accuracy diffusion application, also shows that method can be LMFR analysis.
